THREADED CAP 3D PRINTED IN CARBON FIBER NYLON

COMMENTARY:

This part highlights a number of different capabilities of our F410 3D printer. First, there’s a lot of demand for carbon fiber 3D printing, and this part really shows the ability to get great, strong parts with carbon fiber materials like Matterhackers NylonX at just our standard settings.

Second, this demonstrates the accuracy and detail of the ability to create smooth, threads on this cap. Click on any of the pictures to see this up close!

You will see that there is a lot of faceting (ridges) in the print. That is not caused by the our 3D printer, it is due to the lack of detail when the file was exported from the customer’s CAD files. If it had been exported at higher quality (higher polygon count), those facets would have been printed with a much smoother, rounded surface.
